Old versus New

Smash factor measures your efficiency of contact: How much ball speed do you create from your clubhead speed? Modern drivers have larger hitting zones that increase ball speeds across the face. This makes it easier for you to improve your smash factor and hit longer drives.

How New could benefit You

A golfer with a swing speed of 85mph could add up to 20 yards to their drive by increasing their smash factor by just 0.05. That could be the difference between taking a long iron and a mid-iron on approach.

What about accuracy?

The faster ball speeds will help you gain yardage, but you still need to square the face at impact to find the fairway regularly.

If your driver face is even slightly open relative to your swing path at impact, you’re going to struggle with a slice. We’ll need to have a look at how your shaft, grip and driver head settings relate to your swing before we can correct this.

HIGHER SMASH FACTOR AND STRAIGHTER DRIVES

We want you to fulfill your distance potential without having to sacrifice accuracy and consistency off the tee. The best way for us to deliver this playing experience to you – regardless of your skill level or experience – is through a fitting.
