If you had to rate your mastery of the greenside shots, where would you be?
You have a command of the technique basics of the chip shot, pitch shots under 40 yards, and bunker shots. It’s always three to get down with the occasional up and down.
With chip shots you’ve a fair chance of getting up and down, while on the shorter-pitch shots you have an ability to control your landing area and run out. You have some control over distance on greenside bunker shots.
Whether it is a chip, short pitch, or greenside bunker you get a fair number down in two. You frighten the hole on chip shots – even sinking some. You have a control over the ball on the shorter pitch shots allowing you to up and down. And the sand is your friend.
