Shots for all situations | Better golf & Coaching

Just because you’ve short-sided yourself and face a delicate chip over a bunker, doesn’t mean you need to play defensively. Trust your superior short-game skills to come in clutch and pull off a flop shot that makes your playing partners’ jaws drop!

TRUST is a MUST

Height is fundamental to the flop because you want your ball to stop as soon as possible. You’re going to want your most lofted wedge, laying the face open at address. Setting the ball forward in your stance ensures the bounce of the club skims the turf to give you the height you need. You don’t need to do anything drastic when playing a flop. Trust that if your club selection and setup are sound, you’ll be good to go.

It's a BALANCING ACT

During the takeaway, it’s important you stay as balanced as possible, hinging your wrists and creating a 90-degree angle between your club and lead-arm before making a controlled but aggressive move through the ball.

Tricky though it may be at first, work on your balance by lifting your lead heel slightly off the ground to help you stay nice and centered.

Let’s run through the flop shot fundamentals during a lesson and add one of the coolest short-game shots to your bag of tricks!
